“Stars” by Late-Night Libby

I step outs into the cool night air.
Beautiful Silence.

The delicious darkness,
The bright sparkling stars.

The moonlights glows, reflecting off the smooth white blanket that covers everything.

I can see my breathe against the black ceiling.
A prayer.

A prayer for all the stars in my life, each bright, each special, each unique.
They light up my life.

My pastors; always helpful, always encouraging.

My buddies; always there to say hello.

My little Sunday school 3 and 4 year olds; grinning, chattering, laughing, playing.

My Role models; showing me that living an life all for Jesus is possible.

My mentors and teachers; ready to show me how it’s done. Always patient, always kind.

But most of all, tonight, when I see the moon reflecting the hidden sun to my face, I breathe a prayer of thanksgiving.
For my close friends and family.
Near or far, we all see the same moon.

So I pray “God bless them, protect them, guide them.

I thank you God, tonight, for my stars.”

“Time” by Libby

Time will tell
Where everything leads.

Where heartache heals.

Where pain is relieved.

Where confusion is made clear.

Where tears are turned to joy.

Time will tell
When Time comes.

For now she remains silent.

“Ok,” Jay took up the challenge, “COME ON! LET’S EAT!”

Independence Day Dependence Part #2

If you haven’t read Part #1 Go Here

Disappointed as Carmella was that the Bouncing House didn’t burst, she had a blast shoving her friends around and falling, almost unable to get up again she was so weak from laughing.
Finally they all lay gasping and laughing. Her head was wet under her hair, from the sweat that heated her scalp. Her loose do mixed with Sue’s as they lay side by side trying to regain their breath.
“Oh Man! It’s almost 2! I better hurry for the baptism!” Beverly scrambled up and hop-stepped over Read more »

Independence Day Dependence Part 1, Short Story as Requested!

Hi. Mariah, you’re so persistent about the short story I’m going to do it! Inspired by the July Fourths I’ve had when I was I was a little younger. It’s too long for one post, so it’ll be in parts. Here is  Part 1 girl. 🙂 Enjoy.

“Good morning America! And happy Independence Day! Here in Cali. it’s one marvelous fourth. Stay safe and enjoy your day!”
Carmella yawned, stretched, and tapped the alarm clock snooze button. Sleepily she sat up and dragged her feet off the bed. Suddenly her eyes popped open, Read more »
