Hey guys. I was just thinking about a writing project I’m currently working on. I am SOO blessed to have such an amazing church with such amazing people to work with, and such amazing friends and piers. I absolutely love my life. This year I have permission to write the VBS skit. A small portion of the VBS Day is a skit, portraying the Bible stories, theme, and Jesus in the skit. I am so thrilled to be able to use my love for writing to bless the church. It’s an answered prayer, and I’m so excited.
VBS is three days long at my church, and so I have to write three short skits. The first day’s theme is focused on “Let’s Spend S’more Time With Jesus.” I felt convicted writing that skit, so I decided to sit outside on our porch and spend some more time with Jesus.
I wanted to get to know Him. I’ve been sort of distracted this last few weeks by a friend from church, and I want to focus on how much Jesus loves me. So I approached Him with a heart full of love that wanted to be expressed. Of course being a writer, I dug out my Idea Book and (I use a mechanical pencil) clicked my pencil, and began to meditate. Here’s what I came up with: Continue reading
What is it with Teens and young adults reading anything and everything these days?! It’s ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. Everything we as people read, see, or hear is feeding our inner being. What are we feeding ourselves?! We have not been called to be of this world, but we tend to make excuses as to why we can make acceptations.
TRASH IT ALL! We as tweens, teens, and young adults need to move beyond the world.
This post is part of a Rebellion started by Gray Marie at Writing is Life. And since there are so many great posts on what and why we shouldn’t be reading a lot of these things, I’m doing something different. I’m going to help battle the temptation. Continue reading
Hey guys, this is a very long post. 1600 words, so fasten your seat belts, and “We’re gonna cruise through this.”
And I got my cast off!
My Sunday morning start Saturday night. Usually it’s pretty late. I start by packing lunch for Kate and I, picking my outfit, and studying the next day’s Sunday school lesson. I pray that God will give me His Holy Spirit and speak to the children through me. I ask that He opens their hearts to hear, and He will guide me on how to handle the schedule on that particular day, as well as any difficulties or mishaps that might occur.
I spend the last three hours of the night half asleep and half awake, panicking that we will over sleep. The alarm rings at 7:00 am and Kate gets up to get dressed. She takes the longest, so I make her get up before me.
About 7:40 she is done, and I get up. I dress and make my hair. I am always read exactly 10 minutes after I enter the bathroom.
I double and triple check my Continue reading
Something quick I’m wipping up on the go. I’m late for Memorial Day, but I still want to add my two cents.
Thank you to all those who gave their lives for our freedom.
Guys. As we remember these guys and girls who gave their lives, let’s not forget that we have hundreds of people around us that are still living. Let’s keep in mind that as we show our respect to all the people who died in action, they don’t know it. They can’t hear our thanks, can’t see or tears, and don’t feel the gratitude that we give them. So let’s keep our hearts in the place where as people, we say thank you, shed tears, and express our gratitude to those who are STILL ALIVE! They can hear us, and see us. They need our encouragement and prayers.
Let’s change our outlook on Memorial Day this year. Let’s make it our goal to respect police men and women, firemen and women, those in the Air Force, the Navy, and the Marine that are living their lives TODAY for us. Risking all they have, for our freedom and safety. Pray for their families, and them.
Have a very blessed week. And keep them all in mind guys.
Prologue: Guys, I don’t know if you know but there is a subscribe box on the side, if you want to subscribe to my blog. Just wanted to make sure you are all aware of that. Browse through the sidebar when you have time. There is some pretty fun stuff on there.
Ok, Ok. I know I said I don’t write poetry, and honestly! I don’t! I write like one poem every 6 months. This is just a new blog so I am posting them all at one time. This should be the last poem for like the next 6 or so months. Don’t quote me on that. Anyway, here it is. Continue reading
Hey, I promised to update you guys last week on the crazy machine Steve found in that barn/shed thing. Well it’s a book teleporter thingamajig. Let’s nickname it the BTT for short, because it’s going to need a category of it’s own.
The BTT is a device that will scan any book that you put into it’s clutches, and using prehistoric yet strangely functional technology to teleport you. Not practical at all, and I assume that’s why it ended up in some shed on some property.
What exactly does it do you ask? It takes you and anyone in the building into the book. Uh, yeah, a little crazy and totally impossible, but hey, this is a fiction blog.
Hmm… How did I know that?
Anyway, back to the point. Continue reading
I found this semi song that I wrote when I was 16. It’s not amazing or anything, but just wanted to share, that’s what blogs are for after all, aren’t they?
Back story, I grew up with the goal of guarding my heart for my future husband. This song came to me while I was struggle with feelings for someone, even though I was too young to consider a relationship. It’s my thoughts and words to that person. Here it is. Don’t cringe to hard, and remember guys, Continue reading
