Oh Lord, teach me to weep;
For the sins of my heart
Fill the oceans deep!
I hung you on that cross
To satisfy my lusts.
I stood beside, unfazed,
As the Creator died for dust.
Oh Lord, teach me to weep
For the grief of mankind.
They have scattered as sheep
From the tears, pain and sorrow.
To Love I have grown dull
Lord, renew my senses
So I am more than a living skull.
Oh Lord, teach me to weep
As you wept for Zion.
Their eyes dark with sleep
Theyβve chosen to ignore
The consequences of sin.
Lord, they are blind to know
That You are the Door, the Gate, the Way in!!
Lord God! Teach me to weep
For the world as You do!
Give me the love You keep
In Your great heart for us.
Rend my spirit as Thine
So I groan without words;
Then that I to myself may die.
Then Lord, Maker of all,
Teach me to worship Thee
With life, just as Paul.
Teach me to exalt You
From the depths of my core.
Because of Your mercy on me.
Lord teach me to serve You
More and More.

I need comments and help. What do you guys think? Better rhyming words that mean the same thing? Thanks!
Beautiful poem! I love it. <3
Thank you. I appreciate that. π
Great poem Libby! That was amazing….
Thank’s Mariah.
Super amazing. When I first read it, I thought you just found it on the internet somewhere. You are really good.
Lol, Thank’s Kenzie. No, I wrote that, although maybe I should specify that in the post.
Hey Libby! Sorry I’m so late to get over here. π
Well, I know you asked for critiquing on this poem, but…wow, it’s so beautiful! I honestly can’t think of much that could change! You *could* change some of the rhymes I suppose, but I don’t know how much it could really be bettered.
Absolutely lovely! <3 You're talented!

Thank you Faith! I really appreciate that. I don’t write very much poetry, but that was something I just sort of scribbled down late at night. I find that my writing turns out a lot better when I’m writing late at night, after everyone has gone to bed.
Seems like my writing is best then too. π Less distractions, I think, making it easier to focus.
Wow. So good!
I’m literally laughing my head off right now!!!!
For all of you very confused followers reading this comment, it was posted by my dad and baby sister under the name Bobby Flay. XD I learned a lot of my cooking details from him, so they played a joke on me. Unfortunately for them I can see the email address and I knew who actually wrote it.
Still laughing though! XD
Oh my goodness, that is golden!! XD
