And here we are! The final day of our blog birthday and also the actual Blog BirthDAY. March 24th.
Today I’m offering a special little sneak peak into my WIP (work in progress) my book Dewdrops and Butterflies. I created aesthetics for each on my main characters just like I said I would and now I’m going to share them with you.
This is Rose Wells. She is a runaway foster girl coming from a rough background. She lived with her grandpa until he had a stroke when she was 6, and then moved in with her real parents as a welfare benefit. She was physically injured by her mom and hardly blinked at by her dad.
After an accident that sent Rose to the emergency room, her moms abuse could no longer be hidden and Rose was left with a scar on her face and her heart. She was placed into foster care at age 14.
Devotedly loyal to his wife, and the gentlemen of all time, Alex is one of my favorite male charies ever. (Probably because my other favorite charie, Jackie, from The Standing House dies :'( ) He works a desk job for a travel agency in the city and has good friends in Joseph, and his boss. He also had a strange liking for egg salad sandwiches and a bad habit of storing things he “might” need in his and his wife’s office at home. But Jenni is good at keeping his storage in check (most of the time):
Jenni is a sweet hearted, lovely lady. I created Alex since he is the third POV (point of view) and had to create a wife who would deserve him and all his perfectness (he’s not perfect, I meant perfectness as in he’s like a guy I would want to marry myself). She’s a good cook and dreams of being a mother someday. A dream that was scarred by their miscarriage a year earlier. But she’s an awesome mom to their foster kids.
Rose only stayed long enough in their care to finish recovering from her injury before pulled the stunt she had experience with and ran away. They had been good to her, but she had a distrust for adults, and refused to connect.
She ends up living in a stifled forest outside a community of houses and makes friends with our next character Angel:
Angel is this innocent 14 year old (her age might change later on, I’m not sure yet) with adventure up her sleeve and love for God in everything. With her only brother away on a mission trip to Peru, she tends to be lonely and finds her “summer sister” in Rose. They have a lot of fun together and Angel teaches Rose that trust is something that can not only be broken, but also earned.
So that’s that. What do y’all think? Could it be something you would be interested in reading? I’m hoping to finish it this Camp Nano in April. 😀
And today’s bold word is Christ. Now it’s your turn to take the bold words you collected and contact me with them. I’m going to raffle the prizes in Monday to make sure that everyone has time to send in their sentence. 😀 I hope you all had fun getting to know my lovely Charies and are excited at the prospect of possibly reading it someday.
So long for now.
