Hi Guys! The promised chat! Gray and I had a lot of fun chatting and finding out some random stuff about each other. So you all get to peak into our conversations. Feel free to comment your own answers to any questions that had you squeal, and let us know what you think. ๐ Should I do more chats like this?
Gray’s words are inย italics and mine are normal. And all questions areย bold. Enjoy. ๐

Alright, well first I just want to say that I think you are so pretty! I love your curly hair and freckles and the way that your personality compliments that. SO COOL! I watched your vlog thing. It was awesome. Lol.
Aww, thank you, Libby! I like your blog as well, and as for my hair and freckles, well… I grew them myself?! XD
Onto the questions:
Libby: What’s the story behind your name? Is Gray really your name? Why? And if not, where did the nickname come from?
Gray isn’t really my name, my real name is super common. It’s one of those names that when you call it out in a room full of people, five other girls answer! And my last name is super common too, so I knew it would be wise to switch it to something else if I was going to be an author. My favorite color at the time was gray, and then older people would sometimes mishear me and pronounce my name as gray, so thus, the name. I actually hope to change my first name someday, but that probably won’t happen. ๐
Gray: When did you decide that you wanted to start a blog?
My dad is actually a professional web designer, and so he has been blogging on and off through a lot of my life, so I’ve wanted one for a long time. I did have a blog Bettamaster.com a few years back that got old and boring because it was an informative blog, so mostly information. I wanted to start a blog called MeAsLibby.com at one point and that didn’t work out. So when the chance to start Geoturtle popped up I was all for it.
Libby: What are people’s first impressions when they meet you?
I honestly think I get labeled as an airhead at first glance, that or a geek! I’m usually very energetic around people and my friends, so maybe bubbly? At least I hope!
Gray: I like your blog URL, it’s different. Is there a backstory behind that?
A few years back I was obsessed with the Dolphin Tale movies, and really got into that whole thing. I started following the Clearwater Marine Hospital, which is a real place and where the movie was filmed. CMA receives mostly sea otter, river otters and turtle, and a dolphin every once in a while. So when I signed up for their newsletters I got a lot of turtle rehab and rescue emails. I was super inspired by the story of Ozzie, who was the first satellite release turtle, and so that got me into sea turtles. My dad is such a blogger that he “Hordes” urls, as you called them, we normally call them domains, and when I was out looking for mine he’s like “Hey Libby, you want Geoturtle.com? I already have it.” So that’s where that came from.
Gray: Dolphin Tales?!? I use to love them too!!!
Libby: Why did you decide to blog?
Well, I decided to blog after one of my friends told me I should, and I was just kind of like, “Yeah, that sounds fun!” Unfortunately it took me a year to finally get my parents to agree with me!! XD
Gray: Out of all your blog posts, which one is your favorite?
I haven’t had my blog for a very long time, but so far my favorite post was Modesty, and my Independence Day Dependence short story series. ๐
Libby: What do you think about Adopting and Fostering?
Considering that my family is actually fostering a kid right now, I have very mixed feelings about it. I love this little guy, and if he leaves it’s going to hurt a lot. And I’ve known that since day one, but as time goes on it gets harder and harder realizing he might not stay in our family, and I can’t imagine growing up without him as my little brother. At the same time, I also hate change, and although I know that this is the right thing and that this is what my family is called to do, I don’t want things to become anymore different and at times I am selfish, and wish that life would return to how it use to be before him. I do love my foster brother, and I’m afraid of getting hurt, but at the same time I want to get hurt so I don’t have to face more change.
It’s a very strange situation, and it’s hard to explain the emotions a person goes through. But in the end, I think we need more foster families, and families willing to adopt.
Gray: What is one of your goals in life?
One of my goals in life. I really REALLY want to be a foster mom in life, but most of all I want Mark Shultz song “Before You Call Me Home” on my life.
Libby: Do you collect anything beside books?
Umm, do pens/pencils count? I have around a hundred, I don’t know where they all came from… oops. XD
Gray: What are your three main hobbies?
Writing, reading, and crocheting.
Libby: If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
Hmm. That’s a hard one, if we’re going with sin, well I’d like to change a lot of things, like the fact that I am incredibly selfish, I want to change that to selfless. But for physical things, well also a lot of things. But right now I probably would say my right earlobe, because I recently tore it, somehow… or my teeth, because of my impacted molar. :/
Gray: What is your favorite color, and how do you think it reflects on your personality?
I love scarlet red. Ugh! It’s my most favoritest color. Why? It’s deep. It’s often taken as red and then people move on. Not many people actually spend time on red. There’s meaning behind it if you think about it. It’s loud. I don’t know. It’s just such an awesome color. And it’s the color of blood, Jesus’ blood saved and washed us, it’s the most expensive thing in the world and it was given for us. It’s just.. lol.
Libby: What is your favorite holiday and why?
My favorite holiday has to be Christmas, not only is it the celebration of the birth of my savior, but the air is always filled with so much joy and love that day.
Gray: Pens or pencils? Why?
Both, Pens for journaling because they don’t fade, but I love my mechanical pencil. It’s one of my best friends that I take everywhere.
Libby: If you could be friends with any book or movie character every, who would you want it to be?
WOAH. That’s a hard question. I still would like to meet Janner Wingfeather, we could talk about books and writing, and of course, his amazing journey. But… I don’t know! That’s a toughie!
Gray: What is your favorite restaurant?
My favorite fast food restaurant is Chick-Fil-A, and my favorite sit-down is probably… I don’t know, it’s hard. I like being with friends, so wherever really. I like Dockside in Downtown Cour-d-Alane in Idaho.
Gray: YES! Chick-Fil-A, it’s probably one of my favorites too, but I only crave it on Sundays! :'(
Libby: What do you want to be when you “Grow up”?
I want to be a writer. I don’t really have anything else in career wise. I also hope to raise a family one day and homeschool!
Gray: Do you have a favorite smell? If so, why?
My favorite smell? When I walk into my church Sunday School building, that smell is one of the best things in the world. A combination of crayons and white board cleaners and little kids and paper and sometimes a little bit of coffee. It’s awesome.
Libby: What is your favorite Bible verse?
My favorite Bible verse has to be 1 Timothy 4:12, because it tells young people like me that not only can they make a difference, but they can set an example.
Gray: If you could listen to only one song for the rest of your life, which would you pick?
โAll to usโ by Hallal Music. It’s really good, and I think I could bear with it. XD
Libby: Do you like shopping? If so, for what?
I would like shopping, if I had that much money to burn! But I’m more of a “saver” when it comes to money, I do, however enjoy buying and experimenting with lipstick shades!
Gray: Do you have a favorite band?
Yes! I like Casting Crowns as my favorite band, but I also really like Danny Gokey, and Mark Shultz as my favorite singers.
Libby: Have you ever been to Ikea? If so, did you like it there? Did you eat there?
YES, I’VE BEEN TO IKEA, I LOVE THAT PLACE. We don’t go a lot, and it’s a little pricy, BUT IT GIVES ME SO MANY AESTHETIC IDEAS FOR MY ROOM!!! XD I don’t remember what I ate, it’s been a ย while… ย
Gray: What is one of your goals in life?
One of my goals in life. I really REALLY want to be a foster mom in life, but most of all I want Mark Shultz song “Before You Call Me Home” on my life.
Libby: What is your favorite type of, I forgo the word! Like Desert or tropics or woods. Stuff like that. What’s your favorite?
I think you meant something along the lines of either element or landscape, but I’m not sure. I like the hill country, all of those hills are so pretty! I also like the rolling fields full of swaying grass, and the looming trees of the forests are so welcoming. I’m very bad at choosing!
Gray: Do you like singing?
Do I like to sing? I like to sing when Brennley Brown is on full blast so I can’t hear myself, and there is no one else in the house. Lol
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So that is that! What do you guys think? I think Gray is a super cool person. XD I’d love to do that again sometime Gray. ๐
