My dear girl, why do you listen to the people that would only like to see you broken?
Why do you seek to change yourself to fit their expectations? Their mocking words, heartfelt advice or simple comments that slice down into your heart and leave you crying at night?
Why am I not enough?
Why do you think they are right? Why do you put so much weight on their words? Why do you choose to let yourself care?
Dear girl, you are beautifully and wonderfully made. Your body, your hair and face and skin. But my dear, your heart and mind and soul were made just as beautiful.
Be who you are. The world needs more you. Don’t let them squeeze you into a mold. Don’t let them twist and cut and force you into something you will never be happy as.
You are beautifully and wonderfully made! Your personality and quirks and habits and details of what make you you are OK! Please understand this! Be you! People around you may not like you, but you know what? That’s none of their business. Your purpose is to please God, and God has made you into the beautiful person that you are.
By no means am I saying don’t grow. Learn, grow, practice good habits. Pray, seek God, be kind to others.
Do not feel like you have to adjust to what people want of you.
Live, Laugh, and love, girls.
~Libby
This is beautiful and ever so true!
A lovely reminder that we all need from time to time. Thanks 🙂
