Good morning girls! Today I’m going to talk about the end of the world. I’m so excited! The world will end, but don’t be afraid! Let’s dive in!
Are you saved? Do you believe that Jesus came down to the earth in the form of a human baby by a virgin girl named Mary? Do you believe He lived a sinless life, and then he was beaten and hung on a cross where He died? But, (as I always ask my Sunday school kids) did He stay dead? No. Do you believe that after three days of being physically dead, our Jesus rose from the grave and ascended back to the Father to make intercession for us?
That is what it means to be saved.
Now if you are saved, if Jesus Christ is your personal savior, you are A VICTOR! We fight each battle, but our God has already won the war!
Quick recap of the Armor
Ephesians 6:10-18
- Loins grid with Truth. (Because we need truth in both the public and hidden parts of our lives.)
- Breastplate of Righteousness. (Which we get by the grace of God through Jesus Christ. We are already righteous!)
- Feet shod with the Gospel. (Always ready to share the Good News! No matter where we are!)
- Shield of Faith. (With which we are able to quench all the fiery darts of the enemy!)
- Helmet of Salvation. (Christ is the foundation of your salvation. Be confident in Him!)
- Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. (Hebrew 4:12 says that the Word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword!)
- Praying and Watching. (Paul included them in the list because they are essential to the fight!)
In summary, we are told to (Romans 13:14) “But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”
Now that that is afresh in our remembery, let’s talk about how that teaches us to live.
Living it out in the end of the world
I will not get political. I have my views and my beliefs and my stands, and I highly recommend that you! Young lady, do your research, listen to the people God has placed over you as authority and teachers, and make sure you know what and why you believe what you believe.
This year has been insane. Let’s just say it. We’ve seen the way that the world has gone insane (or has it just been the US for the most part? Except for the Australian wildfires.) Guess what? This has given us as Christians SUCH A BIG OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE THE GOOD NEWS! We should be taking conversations to Jesus, to His word, to what He’s done for us, and to what He’s going to do in the future!
Like it or not, this is near the end of the world. Personally, I really, really hoped we’d finally get to go home at the beginning of September. It seemed like it was time when we looked at the signs! The Watchmen are a group of people that track the end times signs and prophecies. I’ve never really paid a huge amount of attention to their particular work, but it came up recently.
You ask most Christians and they’ll be happy to respond with the simple “Bible says He’ll come as a thief in the night,” and “Nobody knows the day or the hour.” No sir, we don’t. That doesn’t mean we can’t be alert and watching! In fact, the particular watchman that I saw brought up 1 Thessalonians 5:2 and 4 and 6 where it says “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night”… “But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief”… “Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.”
Obviously, we’re still here on earth. We still have people to witness to.
Roman 1:16
Young Christian, don’t waste these numbered days we have left on this earth. I seek more ways to serve, to witness, and a genuine heartache for the lost when I think of a particular date as the time when our God comes to get us. When you realize there is a date and a hour when we will be raised up and taken to heaven, and the lost will stay to live through the horrors of where this world is going, we should be fervent and diligent in sharing the light and the truth that can save lives.
I will leave you today with one more verse, and I highly recommend memorizing it if you haven’t already.
Live like this is your last week. So often we encourage each other to live like it’s our last day. We think its too little time to do anything, or can’t speak to the people we need to speak to or don’t have the opportunity to share with the people that need to hear.
Christian, take EVERY opportunity. There is no time like the present. Pray for Jesus to fill you with His spirit and provide an opening for you to share His love with somebody today, or tomorrow, or the day after. Don’t take this time for granted. Don’t argue about race or masks or political candidates. Tell them why you don’t have to worry about yourself and where your hope and assurance lays. Tell them it’s a free gift.
All they need to do is ask.
If you have prayer requests for yourself or for certain people, or simply want to chat, you can contact me via email here.
