Hi! So today is the last part of my Seattle Trip series. (If you haven’t read Part 1 and want to, click here!)
We stopped at a small Cupcake shop in Seattle before we left and got a couple of cupcakes. It would probably have helped if our family liked cupcakes, but we are more of the muffin types, so there was a bit too much frosting for us. We tossed most of it. But it was decorated so cute! This Easter egg pink and crystal chandeliers. And there was AC, which was awesome cuz it was getting warm.
So that was that. Then we settled in for the drive home.
The thing is, my family and I love each other so much that we can just spend hours and hours together talking and laughing hysterically and then arguing and then sleeping on each other’s shoulders. I was partially looking forward to the drive home through the whole trip because I wasn’t satisfied with our driving from the 6 hours to Seattle.
I was so tired, but I didn’t want to sleep because that would make the time pass faster, but I couldn’t fight it forever, so I took a small nap before we drove up to Leavenworth, WA. A lot of my relatives and some of my friends rave about Leavenworth and of the 18 years I’ve lived on this side of the U.S. we’d never been there. So we decided to make the stop.
It’s this city decorated with the architecture of like an older German thing I think? I don’t know. But all the houses and stores had this cool style to them.
We walked down the street and it was fun to look, but there was mostly a bunch of tourist attractions (with a lot of “personalized” trinkets with you’re name on them) and wine cellars. There was also a hotdog place that was actually pretty good and they had pear (salsa? I can’t remember the right word for it) that I enjoyed taking a bite from.
We found a small quiet corner. We actually came super off-season so there were very few people, but we didn’t mind. (Honestly, Seattle will do that to a person, drain them of people liking for a couple of days.)
We also came across this little Oil Cellar thing, and we ended up getting a bottle of infused Olive Oil.
Then we drove home for a long time and got here about 8:00 in the evening. We were all so exhausted that we went to bed almost as soon as we got home. (Obviously, our dogs were ecstatic to see us, so it was hard to go to bed right away because they were jumping all over the place. XD)
And that was our Seattle Trip. Over all it was a great little break from the monotone of everyday life, but it gives you an appreciation for home. I’m so glad to be back and to be teaching my munchkin’s at church and hanging out with my youth Group at church. I’m actually going to be helping out with their UGM Service Project this year and I’m so excited!!!
Thanks for reading. See you later with my post on Journals! (Which I’m actually going to go make and schedule right after this one. XD)
Tootles friends and readers!
