Okay so this was as amazing as I wanted it to be.

I read Deadly Deceit when it first came out and I loved that book, but several of the third person chapters really bothered me. Silent Shadows was all the spunk, action, romance, and perfection of the second book without the chapters that made me sick. That earned this one a rare Five Star Review from me!
That’s not saying there were not some graphic scenes, action, suspense, since this is a romantic suspense. But there were not any scenes that specifically bothered me morally.
!MINOR SPOILER!
On contrast with many of the other suspense books I’ve been reading, this one only has about three or four characters that die, and none of them are major characters that you grow to love.
!END SPOILER!
I loved the fact that Pecca, the MC, was Mexican. I loved seeing the way that her life developed into something good and beautiful without the stereotype that is in everything. Personally, I felt it was so well handled, and so well executed that you could tell that Pecca came from a Mexican family and had a Mexican son, Maceo, but it didn’t feel unnatural or forced at all. I settled into her life very well. I tend not to be able to relate with characters that are written specifically not American, but that was not the case with Pecca.
And Colton. I just love this guy. I loved him from the beginning. I felt that his insecurity was possibly a bit cliche, but it was so unique and well handled and beautiful I didn’t think it was really a cliche issue so much as a realistic fear with something that backed it up.
His “episodes” were intense, though brief, and I really did enjoy the writing style.
The plotline! Wow! Talk about plot twist! I think I got whiplash! It was so well done. I have only read that dramatic of a plot twist once in my life, and that was in a book that I was alpha reading for one of my best friends. (No offence to that best friend, that plot twist was masterfully woven, but my attachment to the characters that turned made it heart wrenching.) This plot twist was a little bit easier to accept XD.

All in all, I was not disappointed! I’ll be watching this author’s releases and hopefully reading a lot more of her work. When I read in her author note that Silent Shadows is the last book in the Harbored Secrets series, I protested out loud, which may not have been the best idea since I as the only one still awake in the house.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for a review. A positive review was not required and all opinions are my own! I recommend this book to girls 16 and older who like suspense!
